This is pretty cool. If any of you android users have Wordpress blogs that either you run or help manage you really need to check this out. You can get it for free from the android market.

It gives you the tools to add posts, manage items like posts and pages and even moderate comments. I think I will enjoy using this as time goes by.

And FYI: I am posting this from the android client too ;-)

26 Jan 2010 Integrating the online arena…

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Wordpress… the list can go on and on. Do I update this page so these people can see it or should I update that one so those people do. What a pain. I am trying to get all my pages linked together so I can update one and all my pages are notified.

So far I have found that Facebook and Twitter work well together. It is easy to update your Twitter account and have that update your Facebook status as well… But say I want to write a blog post like this one and still let my Facebook friends know or my followers on Twitter know… Now it starts to get complicated.

I wish there were one site you could go to, subscribe to, update and notify all the other sites. I am trying to do that through my blog page but all the plugins can get confusing. If I find a solid solution, I’ll let you know.

14 Dec 2008 I found the perfect bag!

Lacey and I were walking around the mall yesterday while Kelsy was doing her big shopping trip for her 16th birthday and came across a luggage store. We decided to look around and noticed that they had a TUMI section, which I thought was awesome because I was just looking at the TUMI site online because they are a leader in the travel accessory market.  We took a look at several different sizes and styles. I liked being able to try them on rather than just looking at a picture on the web. I found that the styles I was looking at before were just about the size I liked while trying them on.

I finally decided on the bag shown here.  It is nice and slim, and still holds all my gear. Infact, the bag in in TUMI’s T-Tech line and its called a Gear Bag. Its perfect for the stuff I carry, like my phone, extra battery, bluetooth headset,  ipod, headphones, wallet, keys, checkbook, pack of gum, couple of pens, and so on.

I hung the bag over Kesly’s shoulder and she mentioned how light it was, then I had her grab the bag itself and lift it with her hand and her jaw dropped.  The bag seems light, or even empty while you wear it, but to lift it you are amazed at how much heavier it feels.

Another feature about the bag that I really liked is the tracer.  It comes with an individual tracking ID that if the bag is ever lost or stolen, TUMI will help you locate it and have it returned to you free for life.

So I guess I got yet another Christmas present early this year, but I couldn’t be happier. And the nice thing is that I wasn’t picking it out alone. Lacey was there with me and I tried on several of the bags and she gave me her feedback on each one. I really liked that part.

12 Dec 2008 I’m looking for a new bag…

Something simple that has the room to hold my stuff without becomming bulky.

I am looking for something simple that has the room to hold my stuff without becomming too bulky.

Call it what you will. A man bag, a gadget bag, man purse, murse or even a purse.  The fact of the matter is, I need a bag to carry my stuff in that I take with me everywhere, like my phone, my ipod, my wallet, keys, checkbook, my headset…  basically my daily essentials.

I am somewhat partial to the messenger bag style, but not really looking to carry a full messenger bag or soft breifcase everwhere. The one shown in the picture to the right is from a company called TUMI. Its called the Sando Gadget Bag and I have found a couple listed on ebay at a price I can afford but the color is off, I prefer the color shown here.

I also found a few more that I liked here, here, and here. The hard part is that when you are looking at it online you cannot always tell how big it is while it is hanging on your side. How much will it bulk up with the contents in it. Or even if it will sit right on your side while walking…  Those are the important things to me. I don’t want my bag flopping around forwards and backwards while I am walking, nor do I want to have to hold my arm out away from my side because I have some large bulge hanging there. It has to maintain its shape loaded.

Lacey was talking about getting me one for Christmas, and without knowing what it was I told her there were some items I would prefer to pick out myself, this being one of them as it were.  She understood, and is planning on sending me an email with the links to the ones she was considering…  I will have to share this post with her to show her what I was thinking of.

02 Dec 2008 Qik.com to to stream live to the web
 |  Category: Technology  | Comments

I was playing around with this app the other day and found it to be very useful.  Qik.com has an app that runs on you mobile phone and uses the camera to stream video directly to the web.  These files are then stored online and you can view them from Qik’s page or embed them somewhere else like I did below.  Here is a list of supported phones that can run this app.  See my sample below:

Lacey had a great question and I am not sure where to go.  She wants to be able to post here and have it automatically update her facebook page (two birds one stone kinda thing).  Any ideas?
