I have been a supporter of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile since it was a litte bit of code called Windows CE.  Since then it has grown and matured into one of the most widely used mobile operating systems for PDA’s and smart phones. Then came the Apple iPhone. And all of a sudden it was common to have a phone that did more than just keep track of your phonebook and make phone calls even though those of use using windows mobile had been doing that for over a decade.

Now there is a newer contender in the ring and it looks like Microsoft is going to have to really step up and make some major changes if they want to be able to compete.  Google released their Android OS a little over a year ago, and now with the help of HTC, one of the most prominent smart phone designers, they are quickly taking advantage of Microsoft’s apparent lack of progress in the user interface department.
